The IBNII Resort & Spa, Coorg Becomes 1st Eco Luxe Resort to Get “IGBC” Platinum Certification

Coorg, 1st March, 2017 : Newly Opened Luxury Resort The IBNII Resort & Spa, at Coorg spread over a sprawling 120 acres of sheer evergreen woodlands, has become the first Resort in India to receive the Indian Green Building Council’s (IGBC) Platinum certification.

Located at Coorg (Kodagu) district of Karnataka TheIBNII Resort & Spa, has received the IGBC Platinum certification forenergy and resource-efficient, sustainable, cost-effective buildings thatimpose minimal stress on the environment.  The resort is also gearing toget its LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certification byApril. 

The extensive certification process imbibes any realestate project, which imbibes the five elements of Nature in its design andconstruction, is a green/environmentally sustainable real estate. 

Essentially, in order to become environmentallysensitive, the project should broadly focus on -Water Efficiency, SustainableSite, Energy Efficiency, Materials & Resources Optimization, and IndoorEnvironmental Quality Control 

The IBNII Resort & Spa, has also taken many suchinitiatives including   inhouse tailoring facility, usage of recycledmaterials, use of steel fruits and vegetable crates in kitchens  as wellas creating a Eco sensitive supply chain, by sourcing from vendors who have thesame sensitivity towards the environment.  

The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), part of theConfederation of Indian Industry (CII) was formed in the year 2001. The visionof the council is, "To enable a sustainable built environment for all andfacilitate India to be one of the global leaders in the sustainable builtenvironment by 2025".
