Max initiates ‘Share Fashion Share Smiles’ campaign with Goonj – Collects 10K clothes
June 2017: Max Fashion celebrated World Environment Day in association with Goonj NGO by collecting old fashion apparels across Bangalore. In light of the second innings of ‘Share Fashion Share Smiles’ initiative, customers and Employees contributed their old clothes at various Max stores across the city. The initiative concluded at VR Bengaluru today, as famous actress Shruthi Hariharan and the entire cast and crew of movie ‘Tora Tora’ came together to pledge their allegiance for a greener planet.
Speaking onthe occasion, Mr Anil Chinnabhandar, Senior Vice President, Max Fashion commented,“The idea is to give back to society and make a change in our country. We sawthe disparity of resource availability where we live, but we also recognizedhow a little gesture of aid can go a long way. Today, I feel proud to announcethat our initiative with Goonj has culminated successfully with the collectionof ten thousand garments. The collected clothes will not just be re-worn, infact, the unusable and small pieces of clothes will further be reused andrecycled under initiatives like ‘Green by Goonj’.”
ShruthiHariharan whowas present on the occasion, further stated, “I totally believe insharing, as sharing is caring! It was enthralling to see people coming in hugenumbers and helping their fellow humans. It feels great to see the zeal isstill alive in people and it has been incredible to be a part of something sovaluable.”

Customerswho shared clothes were gifted saplings on World Environment Day for theircontribution. Max gave out more than 2,000 saplings across the city. Max hasalways taken a step forward towards environment sustainability. They have beendoing various activities across cities that benefits the society like upcyclingand craft workshop. At the Max Kids Festival the kids learned to create wastebins out of plastic bottles. They have upcycled over 1000 plastic bottlesduring this activity.
